Prologics automotive sensor voltage probe
The Prologics Sensor Voltage Probe is a versatile automotive tool designed for testing and simulating sensor signals. It offers four key functions:
- Voltage Simulation: Outputs 0.5V–7.0V at 3A or 0.2V–7.0V at 150mA, emulating signals from various vehicle sensors.
- Voltage Measurement: Measures up to 70V DC with polarity detection.
- Resistance Measurement: Measures resistance up to 5kΩ.
Ideal for 12V and 24V systems with ECM/ECU, it can be used independently or alongside a diagnostic scanner. This tool helps technicians determine whether a fault originates from the sensor itself or from wiring and connectors during troubleshooting.
Features
-
Fault Recognition via Error Codes: The probe allows simultaneous observation of sensor data while reading diagnostic scanner error codes.
-
Sensor Signal Simulation: By simulating sensor output signals, the ECM/ECU response and efficiency can be evaluated.
-
Typical Applications:
-
Simulates outputs of Crankshaft Position (CKP), Camshaft Position (CMP), ABS, Wheel Speed (WSS), Coolant Temperature, Lambda (O2), MAF, MAP sensors, and more.
-
Imitates sensor signals under different engine operating modes without removing the sensor unit.
-
-
ECU Monitoring: During simulation, Live Data on the diagnostic scanner is monitored to assess ECU activity.
-
Fault Diagnosis: Helps identify whether faults are due to sensor issues or wiring/ECU connections, reducing unnecessary part replacements.
